Abstract

Reza Shah's documentary of Man and To satellite network is one of the actions of this network in the direction of creating new history and distorting the contemporary history of Iran. By showing pictures of the ruins of the Qajar era, the producers of this work consider Reza Pahlavi's entry into political power as a miracle to end the chaotic situation of that era and attribute many measures in the cultural and social fields to her. Actions that generally changed the face of Iran from complete destruction to a modern and powerful country in the region. Therefore, this article tries to investigate the distortions raised in Reza Shah's documentary using documents and sources in a descriptive-analytical way. The questions raised here; 1. How close to the reality are the issues surrounding the cultural and social actions of Reza Shah's period in the documentary? And what role did the appointed administrators of the Pahlavi government have in creating the changes of that period? The findings of the article show that the documentary attributes all aspects of the cultural and social development of the first Pahlavi era to Reza Shah and the Pahlavi government by showing selected images and providing false information to its audience, and that he was the only factor in the cultural and social progress of Iran at that time.
