The primary question of this article is how Imam Khomeini's (PBUH) discourse has influenced recent developments in Islamic countries known as "Islamic awakening". The hypothesis of this research is that, with original Islamic as its base, Imam Khomeini's (PBUH) discourse has prepared the ground with intellectual inspirations and institutionalization of defense mentality as well as confronting domestic and foreign despotism among Muslim and Arab nations to resonate the screams of "Islamic awakening" in the region.
