Abstract

Using document analysis method, this article tries to investigate components of Pahlavi courtiers' political behavior from 1964 up to the victory of Islamic revolution in 1979 in the theoretical framework of Nahjolbalaga teachings. On this basis, first Imam Ali's (peace be upon him) viewpoint about the indexes of political rulers' political behavior has been presented and then components of Pahlavi courtiers' political behavior compared to Imam Ali's (peace be upon him) have been investigated. The results indicate that the creation of undesired conditions like dependence, discrimination, injustice and removal of open political atmosphere made Pahlavi regime be recognized as an illegitimate regime and led to the proposal of an alternative ideology by ulema [religious scholars]. This finally led to the expansion of revolutionary morale and action against Pahlavi courtiers which in turn played a pivotal role in the formation and victory of the Islamic revolution.
