Abstract
This article is comprised of two main inquiries: What are the opportunities and challenges faced by Iran in new Iraq? How are the prospects of Iran-Iraq relations rated? Two indexes of (opportunities and challenges) as an independent variable and level of cooperation, relation and prospects of two countries have been studied as dependent variables. In other words, the more opportunities are exploited in current circumstances, the less tension creating elements such as the penetration of extremist groups in Iraq will happen. On the other hand, if more foreign players penetrate Iraq, the ground will be paved for security, economic and more important cultural barriers that are fundamental elements for Islamic Republic of Iran.
