Abstract The purpose of this study is to determine the extent and effect of the components of knowledge-based economy and total productivity of production factors on the growth of total production in the period 1975-2015 in 40 developing countries. For this purpose, the generalized torque econometrics (GMM) approach has been used in the combined data context. In this study, the effect of IT infrastructure, creativity and innovation, education and knowledge management as components of knowledge-based economy and independent research variables, and total factor productivity on total production growth has been investigated. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between the variables related to IT infrastructure, creativity and innovation, education and knowledge management in selected countries and productivity growth with the output of the whole economy.
