Pages 35-58

Seyyed Hamidreza Mir Azimi, Mohsen Jamshidi Koohsari

Abstract This article studies the position of Iranian Majlis representatives in Islamic jurisprudence. Some say representation in Iranian Majlis can be adapted to the concept of wakil [agent] in jurisprudence. On the
contrary, some reject this adaptation for many reasons. As a jurist and founder of Islamic republic of Iran, Imam
Khomeini has called Iranian Majlis representatives as nation's wakils, however, it is inferred from his speeches
that first, applying the term wakil for Iranian Majlis representatives is based on the broad meaning of wakil
not because the concept of wekalat [agency] in jurisprudence applies to Iranian Majlis representatives.

Pages 139-164

Muhammad Reza Majidi, Hadith Eqbal

Abstract Systems are comprised of institutions and institutions are comprised of structures. To explain a model for system
making, one is first required to study institutions and their underlying structures. Any definition for democracy
includes two basic concepts i.e. "participation" and "competition". "The constitution" as an institution, has
reserved numerous principles to secure democracy and people's ruling. "Political participation" with reference to
"agreed upon methodology for the evaluation of democracy" has been implemented in this article.
However, this article believes that "elements promoting political competition" and "structured panocracy" are
challenges faced by this model.

Mojtaba Zare'ee

Abstract The main inquiry of this article is to find out whether politics and practical philosophy in charge of human's
affairs can be single-dimensional while he is naturally composed of body and spirit making him a complex
creature. Given this fundamental question and the main inquiry of the current article whose answer is more of a
negative one, pre-assumption of this article is based on this fact that Islamic revolution's approach toward
humans, makes non-secular practical philosophy and politics a necessity for the handling of human's affairs
while its secular and non-divine type does not provide a comprehensive solution for such needs.
