Abstract
Objective: Knowledge governance in mission-oriented organizations, due to their situational sensitivity, can significantly contribute to advancing organizational knowledge-based goals. However, to date, no comprehensive and localized model for knowledge governance has been developed for the Martyr and Veterans Affairs Foundation of Iran.
Method: This study employed an exploratory mixed-method (qualitative-quantitative) approach. The qualitative phase utilized Grounded Theory, while the quantitative phase employed a descriptive-survey method. The qualitative population consisted of 17 experts (university professors and senior organizational managers). The quantitative population included employees of the Foundation, from which 384 participants were selected through cluster random sampling. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews (qualitative) and a researcher-made questionnaire derived from the interviews (quantitative). Qualitative data were analyzed using open, axial, and selective coding via MAXQDA24 software. Quantitative data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with PLS3 software.
Findings: A total of 74 indicators (sub-categories) were identified and categorized into 28 main categories. In the third stage of coding, 10 main categories were classified into causal conditions, contextual factors, intervening conditions, strategies, and consequences. Proper implementation of knowledge governance leads to the development of dynamic capabilities, improved organizational performance, long-term survival, reduction of future challenges, and enhanced stakeholder conditions. The structural model demonstrated a good fit regarding the causal relationships among the constructs.
Conclusion: The proposed model, along with practical strategies, indicates that knowledge governance at the organizational level enhances productivity, innovation, efficiency, and quality within the Martyr and Veterans Affairs Foundation of Iran.
