Pages 125-140

Yaqoob Tavakkoli, Elahe Khani Arani

Abstract From a historical and sociological viewpoint it can be stated that in every society two groups have been the source of historical developments in different eras: famous figures (elites) and ordinary people (public
masses); such that any historical phenomenon is a consequence of those two groups' performance and how
they interact. However, since elites are referred to as authorities and since followers are influenced by
pioneers, their performance and mindset in conception and formation of historical and political processes will be
an important issue to be taken into account; because their performance can make the society and even history a
blissful one. They may also cause the society or history to corrupt and decompose. Therefore the primary element
in this regard is elites. Categorizing models of elites' and political figures' social and political behavior with regard to their attitudes, beliefs, mentality and motives (based on religious literature) is the subject of this research.
